Entrepreneur-in-Residence
Jan joined Chrysalis as Entrepreneur-in-Residence in February 2010 and is currently CEO of Chrysalis’ portfolio company meQuilibrium, a provider of online stress management solutions for consumers and employers. During her tenure as EIR Jan launched meQuilibrium, in which Chrysalis invested in September 2011. Jan also serves on the board of directors of Chrysalis’ portfolio company Chronicity.
Jan is a media executive with a proven record in turn-arounds as well as high-growth and emerging businesses in the health, consumer lifestyle and sports/fitness markets. Most recently she was Managing Director at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, of body+soul magazine, the category leader in wellness and sustainability, and was responsible for the launch of WholeLiving.com, a site leveraging mind, body, spirit, wellness and “green” subject matter. During her previous role as CEO of New Age Publishing, Jan led body+soul through its turn-around and rebranding efforts and subsequently sold the company to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in 2003. She then ran the publication post-acquisition until 2009. Prior to that, she was also CEO and co-founder of Integrative Medicine Communications, a pioneer digital content development and licensing company, and CEO and Publisher of Walking Magazine which was sold to Cowles Media Publishing Group.
Jan is a graduate of Smith College and Radcliffe College Publishing Procedures Program. She lives with her husband and two children in Waban, MA.
