Entrepreneur-in-Residence
Ted is an experienced healthcare information technology and behavioral health entrepreneur. Most recently, he was CEO of Chrysalis portfolio company HealthMedia®, a behavioral science technology company that builds and delivers tailored behavioral programs for the pharmaceutical/medical device, healthcare and disease management markets. Under Ted’s leadership, the company grew from a small, near-death post dot-com company into a $30 million revenue software-as-a-service business. HealthMedia was acquired by Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) in 2008.
Ted has an extensive background with early stage tech companies. Prior to HealthMedia, Ted served as President and CEO at Centromine, an Internet-based behavioral health firm, headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Orion Micro Systems, which was based in Waterbury, Connecticut. He was the VP of Sales and Marketing for two other early stage companies that had successful exits. He has also worked in larger organizations including Hyperion Software, Comshare and General Electric and has held a full range of positions across the company including software development, finance, client services, sales, marketing, strategy development, M&A and CEO.
Based in Ann Arbor, MI, Ted currently serves as CEO of XLerant and is on the boards of XLerant, HealthTeacher, Edington Associates and Pehr (Practical Electronic Health Records). He also serves as an advisor to Levanto Financial, HEALTHeME, Nutriinfo and Possibilities for Change. He has been the keynote speaker at numerous events. Ted holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
