Entrepreneur-in-Residence

Mike Shea is a successful health care services entrepreneur and operator with over 22 years of industry experience. Mike founded revenue cycle management services provider MedAssist in 1989. His vision of “Bridging the Gap” between health care delivery and reimbursement, with a focus on patient advocacy, helped pioneer the acceptance of eligibility outsourcing nationally in the US. Under his leadership as president and CEO the company grew into a 1,400 person, more than $100 million revenue company by 2007, when he sold it to Firstsource Solutions for $330 million. Until 2010, he served as the North America CEO and President of Healthcare of Firstsource.

In 2003, Mr. Shea was the recipient of the Ernst & Young Midwest Entrepreneur of the year award for Healthcare. In 2005 and 2007, he was also named one of the most influential Healthcare Leaders in the Louisville, Kentucky area by Business First. He is a Board member of Chrysalis portfolio company NextImage Medical and helped recruit former MedAssist CFO Frank Stellato to become CFO of Chrysalis portfolio company MyHealthDIRECT.
