HealthMedia Helps Launch
Arkansas's "AR Wellness"
Weight Management And Nutrition Program
More than 400 Arkansas
state and public school employees enrolled in first three weeks
(Fort Worth, Texas, July 26, 2006)
– Corphealth, Inc. has been selected by the state of Arkansas
to manage the groundbreaking AR Wellness weight management and
nutrition program for state and public school employees and dependents.
The program began on July 1, 2006 and is the culmination of Arkansas
Governor Mike Huckabee’s pledge to reduce chronic adult
obesity statewide. More than 400 people have already signed up
to participate.
“We have implemented a program that utilizes proven behavioral
intervention strategies and techniques that help participants
to achieve a sustainable, healthy lifestyle,” said Patrick
Gotcher, president and CEO of Corphealth, Inc. “The result
is improved quality of life, happiness, life satisfaction, and
longevity.”
AR Wellness program offerings include:
• Personalized Coaching - Corphealth coaches form a partnership
with participants and utilize various proven health behavior change
techniques. When added to on-line resources, Corphealth’s
personalized coaching substantially increases the effectiveness
and success of behavior change.
• HealthMedia® Balance™ - An on-line program
teaches participants the critical elements of successful weight
loss and maintenance: nutritional habits (food); physical activity
patterns (body); and the psychological, emotional, and behavioral
patterns (mind) that influence them.
• HealthMedia® Nourish™ - An on-line program
provides tools for making healthy eating choices aimed at improving
health and well-being.
“Of all the accomplishments that I’ve made in my
life, taking control of my health is one of them I am most proud
of,” said Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who lost over
100 lbs. after he was diagnosed with type II diabetes. “Now
I want all state employees to have access to the same opportunity…not
only to live a healthy life, but to win the battle of the bulge.”
HealthMedia Balance™ and Nourish™ are tailored to
each individual participant, providing unique advice that is based
upon an initial assessment of his or her prior attempts to change
behavior, knowledge, goals, motivation, self-confidence, perceived
barriers and habits. The programs provide on-line longitudinal
support, tools and assessments to reinforce healthier behavior
choices and maximize quality of life and productivity.
“HealthMedia is thrilled to be working with Corphealth
on this landmark initiative in the state of Arkansas. Governor
Huckabee has been a tremendous role model of achievement in the
fight against obesity, not just for the state of Arkansas, but
for the entire country,” said Ted Dacko, CEO and president
of HealthMedia, Inc.
